28. We will work with industry to take forward the Step Change Programme (now known as the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme) to provide the capacity to deliver next generation broadband to 95% of premises by 2017-18, and a significant uplift in speeds for the remaining areas.

Ongoing Activity and Milestones:
The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband (DSSB) programme has already met its target of providing fibre broadband access to 85% of homes and businesses across Scotland and is on track to reach 95% by the end of 2017. At the end of June2017, DSSB has connected over 750,000 premises from an expected total of around 800,000 at the end of the programme.  This is in addition to commercial broadband rollout by BT and other suppliers.
