Visit Scotland continue to engage with all planning authorities as well as public bodies and the tourism industry to add further information to the National Tourism Development Framework. Through this collaborative approach an initial “wish list” of projects has been turned into a dynamic action plan which has captured for the first time ever details of over 640 live projects valued at over £10.1 billion.  All of these projects will in some way improve the visitor’s experience of Scotland when complete

A refresh of the initial document, first published in July 2013 was undertaken in 2016 and this updated version is available at the link below provided below:

In addition, in support of the main National Tourism Development Framework, partners involved in supplying material for the document were asked to identify projects directly linked to its various sections.

A list of these is also provided under further reading and is accurate as at December 2016.  These are projects which will improve the customer experience and which will either start, continue or be completed over the next 3 years (2017 – 2019).
