The Planning for Infrastructure Research Project, , commissioned by the Scottish Government was published in August 2015. The research was informed by the views of planning authorities across Scotland, the development industry, agencies and utility providers. The report’s recommendations focus on scope to improve practice, and highlight a range of challenges and opportunities for more joined up working across public and private sectors. Building on the research project, on February 17, 2016, Draft Planning Delivery Advice on housing and infrastructure was published. The main purpose of the advice is to facilitating the delivery of housing and infrastructure and to assist in the preparation of development plans.
